NRM delegates paid Shs10.5b to attend conference

The ruling NRM party has spent at least Shs10.5b to facilitate the stay of its delegates who convened at Namboole stadium since last Friday to elect new party leaders.

Each of the 22,000 delegates that attended the party meetings at the stadium pocketed Shs500,000 to facilitate their accommodation and other needs.

Deputy secretary general Richard Todwong confirmed this saying: “Each person was given Shs500,000. Some of the delegates, especially those from upcountry, were seen in jubilation after receiving the money, which was being given out at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds where accreditation of the delegates took place.
